Algenkunst
Algen üben auf Sylvia Stölting eine große Faszination aus. Sie verfügen über Strukturen, die kein anderes Material in dieser Zartheit bietet. Diese zu gestalten, zu Kunstwerken zu formen und farblich zu bearbeiten, stellt für die Künstlerin, die schon in der Vergangenheit mit vielen natürlichen Stoffen wie z.B. Sand gearbeitet hat, eine Herausforderung dar. Auf diese Weise entstehen bildhafte Kompositionen, die sich dem Betrachter nicht immer sofort erschließen sondern zur eigenen Interpretation herausfordern.  Und so verraten die amorphen Strukturen manchmal erst beim längerem Hinsehen Formen und Gestalten, bizarre Geschöpfe, Gesichter und Figuren. Im Gegensatz zum der Natur entnommenen Material Alge besteht der Malgrund aus PVC-Folien, in der Kunst vereinen sich diese scheinbaren Gegensätze zu einem Gesamtwerk.

Algae Art
Algae really fascinate Sylvia Stölting. They dispose of many different structures, which no other material has in this tenderness. To arrange, to form them into works of art and to colourise them is a challenge for the artist. She showed already in the past, as she worked with many different types of natural materials like sand, that it is a challenge she can likes to face. Through this process arise figurative compositions which needs time to become accessible to the viewer; they challenge the viewer to his own interpretation.  So that it takes sometimes a while until the amorphous structures show its forms and shapes. They transform into bizarre creatures, faces and figures.
In contrast to the natural material algae, the ground is PVC foils. Art combines these two different materials to one complete work.
